About the Temple of Commerce

Welcome, and thank you for perusing the Dylan Meconis Temple of Commerce, where you needn’t sacrifice a black ram under the full moon to receive total satisfaction.

All items in the Temple are hand-packaged and shipped by me, and sent from my studio in the heart of downtown Portland, Oregon. Except for the books, all items are produced either by me or by a small, local area vendor (except shirt fabric). If you would like more information on product manufacture, please contact me and I'll be happy to put you in touch with my production partners.

When you order, please keep in mind that I don't have a warehouse or staff; I'm usually able to ship items out only one or two days a week.  Your order should be in the mail within a maximum of two weeks of your order being placed; the only exceptions are custom-ordered prints, which require extra production time. If I am unable to ship before then (ie, I'm out of town at a convention), a notice will be visible!

If you order a book and nothing else, it will ship to you via USPS Priority, in a Flat Rate container where possible, and should arrive within 1-4 days. If you've only ordered a small set of stickers, it will ship to you in a standard envelope via USPS First Class (unless you order enough to fill a padded envelope!)

If you would like your item to arrive in time for a particular event, please add a note to your order and I’ll do my best to accommodate.

Most orders will receive a tracking number at the e-mail address you provide as soon as I've printed your mailing label. Items mailed in a standard First Class envelope are not eligible for tracking, but you'll be notified when your order has been filled.

I ship everywhere!  Heaven help me, I do.  International orders requiring more than a simple envelope will be sent via International Priority in Flat Rate packaging wherever possible, with a small fee added for the extra handling and paperwork required on my end to get everything sent to you safely.

I understand that the cost of international shipping can be prohibitive for some buyers, and I try to keep my estimated prices within reason so as not to bankrupt either of us!  If you're nervous about your potential shipping costs, please feel free to take your item to the check-out screen to get your shipping estimate; you won't be asked to pay without seeing those costs first.

For UK buyers, please keep in mind that you are responsible for paying all Import Duty/VAT expenses, which will be charged to you upon receipt of your package; your order might be withheld until payment.  You can get an estimate of your additional expenses by visiting this free online Import Duty/VAT calculator. Shipments totalling below £15.00 are typically exempt.

Please, if you're checking out internationally...double-check your shipping information for complete correctness!  It's totally no fun to pay for international shipping and then have your package take a four-week round trip across the seven seas.

I’m happy to offer a full refund, no questions asked, on any item that hasn’t yet shipped and that hasn’t been customized (a book made out to somebody, a print made on order).

If you receive your item in the mail and would like to exchange it for a different one (eg, a different size of shirt), shipping for the new item is on me!

If your order arrives damaged in any way, if I send you the wrong order, or if you would like to exchange for store credit with me, please send me an e-mail through the store, and I’ll be happy to make it right.

And if you just plain don’t like what you got, please tell me, toss your unloved item back in the mail, and I’ll refund you in full minus postage.

I won’t sell your information or spread it in any way, and at no point do I have direct access to your credit card information. If you sign up for the mailing list, rest assured that I send an e-mail approximately, oh...well, I haven't sent one out yet, let's put it that way.  If I have a new book out, maybe you'll hear something. I hate that stuff, too.

The only places that will have access to your information:

Paypal or Google Checkout – I receive your name, shipping address, and and e-mail address
Shopify (my store’s engine) – same as above, plus what items you’ve ordered
Endicia (my mailing software) – your name and shipping address

All profits go directly to the artist - paying for such extravagances as lunch, art supplies, and toothpaste. Retail sales are a big part of my income; thank you for enabling me, and please contact me with any concerns or requests.
